1. ABOUT US
Craft Time is an independent pottery painting studio based in Battle, East Sussex. We offer drop-in painting sessions, pre-booked sessions, private party hire, and a small online shop. By visiting our studio, making a booking, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.
If you have any questions, our team will be happy to help — just ask in the studio or get in touch before your visit.
2. STUDIO SESSIONS
Walk-In Visits
Walk-in customers are welcome during opening hours, subject to availability. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and recommend calling ahead during busy periods or school holidays.
Pre-Booked Sessions
Booking in advance guarantees your space and may be required at peak times. Bookings can be made in person, by phone, or via our website.
Seat Fees & Painting Credit
2.1 A seat fee of £5.00 per person applies to all guests seated at a table, whether painting or not.
2.2 Guests who paint a pottery item will have £4.00 of their seat fee credited against the price of that item. The remaining balance is payable at checkout.
2.3 One (1) non-painting guest per table may have their £4.00 credit applied toward the total cost of pottery painted by others at the same table, in place of their own item.
2.4 Any further non-painting guests beyond the one described in clause 2.3 will be charged the full £5.00 seat fee, with no credit applied.
2.5 Every booking must include at least one guest who paints a pottery item. We are unable to offer table bookings for groups where no pottery is being painted.
2.6 Seat fees are non-refundable and apply per person, regardless of whether an item is ultimately purchased, except as set out in clause 2.3.
3. POTTERY PRINTS SESSIONS
Pottery Prints is a dedicated appointment-based session where you can create personalised printed pottery pieces. As appointments are reserved exclusively for you, a booking fee is required to secure your slot.
Booking Fee
- A non-refundable booking fee of £10.00 is required to confirm your Pottery Prints appointment.
- Your appointment is not confirmed until the £10.00 booking fee has been received.
- The £10.00 booking fee will be deducted from the total cost of any items purchased during your appointment.
- If no items are purchased during the appointment, the booking fee is retained in full and is not transferable.
No-Shows
- If you do not attend your appointment without prior notice, the £10.00 booking fee is forfeited and a new booking fee will be required to make another appointment.
Cancellations & Rearranging
Cancellations and rearrangements for Pottery Prints appointments follow our standard Cancellation & Refund Policy set out in Section 4. Please note:
- The £10.00 booking fee is non-refundable in all circumstances.
- If you rearrange within the terms of Section 4, your booking fee will be carried over to your new appointment date.
- Rearrangement requests that fall outside the terms of Section 4 will require a new £10.00 booking fee.

6. EVENT SEATING POLICY
To make the most of our studio space and allow as many guests as possible to enjoy our events, seating is arranged in advance.
- Our studio has a limited number of tables for two.
- During busy events, smaller bookings may be seated at shared tables with other guests.
- If you book as part of a larger group, we will always do our best to seat you together.
- If you would prefer a private table, please let us know when booking. While we cannot guarantee this for every event, we will try to accommodate your request where possible.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
7. POTTERY & FIRING
All painted pieces are kiln-fired to set the glaze. Please allow 7–10 days for your piece to be ready. We will contact you when it is ready for collection.
- Pieces must be collected within 30 days of notification. Items not collected within this period may be donated or disposed of.
- While every care is taken, Craft Time cannot guarantee against cracking, colour variation, or other natural effects of the firing process.
- Pottery is fragile. Craft Time is not responsible for breakages once items have left the studio.
8. BREAKAGE POLICY
We handle your pottery with great care throughout the process. However, pottery is fragile and kiln firing can occasionally produce unexpected results. Issues caused by hidden air bubbles, manufacturing faults, or the nature of the firing process are rare but beyond our control.
- If your piece is damaged by our team before firing, we will provide a replacement piece for you to paint.
- If a fault occurs during the kiln firing process, we will assess each situation individually and offer a replacement item where appropriate.
- Please note that an identical replacement cannot always be guaranteed, as stock may vary.
We appreciate your understanding — these situations are uncommon, and we will always do our best to put things right.
9. POSTAGE POLICY
If you would like your completed pottery posted to you, we will package your items carefully using protective materials. Please be aware of the following before requesting postage.
- All items are sent at the customer's own risk. Once your parcel has been handed to the postal or courier service, responsibility for delivery passes to the carrier.
- We cannot accept liability for items that are lost, delayed, or damaged in transit.
- Please check that your delivery address is correct before dispatch — we cannot redirect parcels once they have been collected.
- If your parcel arrives damaged, please contact the delivery company directly to make a claim. We are happy to provide proof of postage and any supporting information to assist your claim.
- A postage and packaging charge will be confirmed at the time of your request.
By requesting postage, you acknowledge and accept these terms.
10. ONLINE SHOP
Craft Time sells pottery pieces, craft kits, and related products through our online shop. All prices are in Pounds Sterling (GBP).
- Orders are subject to availability. We will notify you if an item is out of stock and offer an alternative or full refund.
- We aim to dispatch orders within 3–5 working days. Delivery timescales are estimates and cannot be guaranteed.
- Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods. Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
- Return postage costs are the buyer's responsibility unless the item is faulty.
- Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item.
- Personalised or fired pottery pieces are non-returnable unless faulty.
11. HEALTH & SAFETY & STUDIO CONDUCT
Craft Time is a welcoming, family-friendly environment. All guests must follow the instructions of studio staff at all times.
- Paints and glazes are non-toxic and child-safe, but should not be ingested. Please supervise young children at all times.
- Craft Time cannot be held liable for personal injury or loss of personal property during your visit, except where required by law.
- We reserve the right to refuse entry to, or remove from the studio, any person whose behaviour is deemed disruptive, offensive, or unsafe. No refund will be given in such cases.
- In the event of an emergency, please follow staff instructions and vacate the premises immediately.
12. PHOTOGRAPHY & SOCIAL MEDIA
You are welcome to photograph your pottery for personal use and social media. By tagging us, you grant Craft Time permission to reshare your content. We may photograph sessions for our own marketing — please let a member of staff know if you would prefer not to be included.
13. PRIVACY
Your personal data is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available in the studio and on our website. We will never sell your data to third parties.
14. GOVERNING LAW
